MATHS AT ALC

Children begin with practical materials, visual models and real-world examples before moving to abstract notation, helping them understand why maths works, not just how to follow a method.

Our small-group model gives each child a near one-to-one learning experience, allowing educators to understand them individually, spot misconceptions quickly and provide targeted support in the moment.

 Observations and work samples are reviewed with AI-supported analysis to identify patterns in each child’s learning, helping us plan lessons that are targeted, relevant and responsive. 

 Children who are ready are encouraged to move ahead, with the right level of challenge to keep them progressing. We do not hold a child back simply to match the pace of a group.
