Frequently Asked Questions

  • We start with a short written activity and a friendly observation during the first session to understand your child’s strengths, learning needs, and how they learn best.

  • Lessons are personalised—some children learn better with pictures, others by doing things with their hands, and we adjust to match their style.

  • Each session helps your child practise what they’ve learned before moving on to new topics, building confidence and solid understanding.

  • We check progress regularly and compare it to national curriculum goals, with a more formal check-in every six weeks.

  • We update and adjust the learning plan based on how your child is doing.

  • Parents are kept in the loop throughout, so you always know how your child is progressing.

  • Montessori Mastery means children take their time to fully understand something before moving on. They learn at their own pace, building confidence and independence.

  • We go over important ideas in different ways—using hands-on activities, games, real-life examples, and creative tasks—to help learning stick.

  • Children don’t just memorise; they learn how to use what they know in different situations.

  • We use Montessori materials and project-based activities to make learning fun, practical, and meaningful.

  • This approach not only builds strong academic skills but also encourages independence, problem-solving, and creativity—skills that last a lifetime.

  • Maths – Building strong foundations, problem-solving skills, and confidence through personalised learning

  • English – Developing reading, writing, comprehension, and communication through mastery-based activities

  • Handwriting – Focused practice to improve fine motor skills, letter formation, and fluency

  • 11+ Preparation – Starting from Year 3, covering verbal reasoning, non-verbal reasoning, maths, and English in a structured, supportive way

Tuition starts from £70 per month per subject, offering excellent value for the high-quality, personalised education we provide.  Our services are designed to be competitive when compared to one-to-one tuition, providing similar levels of individual attention and tailored learning at a more affordable price.

At Acorns Learning Centre, the monthly fee includes a one-hour session per week for each subject. Sessions can take place during any of our scheduled times on Tuesdays, Thursdays, or Saturdays, offering flexibility to fit your family’s schedule.

For students studying two subjects in one day, we offer 45-minute sessions for each subject, with a 15-minute break in between. This structure ensures the learning remains engaging and manageable, allowing students to stay focused and make the most of their time with us.

  • At Acorns Learning Centre, we follow a Montessori-inspired approach focused on hands-on learning, independence, and real-world understanding.

  • Unlike traditional tuition centres, we don’t teach the same lesson to everyone. Each child gets a learning plan tailored to their pace and needs—just like one-to-one tutoring, but with the added benefit of working alongside peers.

  • We teach through practical, engaging activities like financial literacy and creative projects that build problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

  • We also use traditional teaching methods when helpful, and combine them with smart online tools that track your child’s progress and help us adapt lessons as they grow.

  • Our unique handwriting program, based on Montessori techniques, builds strong writing foundations through fun, hands-on activities—something most other tuition centres don’t offer.

  • By combining Montessori principles with proven teaching methods and modern technology, we offer a one-of-a-kind learning experience that builds confidence, independence, and a love for learning.
